I found it interesting that this page focuses on meeting facilitation. Generally the practice of facilitation is applied to a much wider range of group interactions.

Good morning, User 216.254.22.58. Why don't you edit the Facilitation article to bring in the wider range of application? Cheers! User: Thseamon Dec. 20, 2004

I agree with this comment. Also, facilitated decision making may involve aspects other than concensus.

I agree with the comment about broadening the decision-making aspect to include more than consensus I would also like to see the comment about "impartial" facilitation removed because while this is true for many instances of facilitation it is certainly not true for all. Group process patterns

[edit]

There is an interesting wiki-based project that attempts to name and describe the processes that are used in group facilitation. See Group Pattern Language for a summary of such patterns with associated pictures. Please consider adding this (or a similar) link to the external links section. (I'm not adding it because I'm not a expert on this topic.) VoteFair (talk) 21:24, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing business-centric title for this general article on meeting facilitation

[edit]

I'm wondering what the process is for changing the (business) term associated this general description of meeting facilitation to something like (meetings) which I think is more general and appropriate for the content of this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by COCoFacilitation (talkcontribs) 17:38, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would support such a change as much facilitation occurs in non profit , state, and voluntary sectors and the term business is misleading and a bit vague. The names Facilitation (meetings) ,and Facilitation (group process) suggest themselves. Lumos3 (talk) 22:46, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Couldn't agree more with this proposal, in fact, the notion of business facilitation can mean something else not related to group process facilitation and both would be different professional activities.

I also would propose to remove the Warning on lack of references as this was addressed already. Who would be so kind to proceed with this? Nunesdea (talk) 17:52, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Have moved to Facilitation (organisational) because it's not just used in business/commercial settings. "Organisational" because there are elements of the role that are not just entirely about the meeting. --MilkMiruku (talk) 17:02, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
