Hello,

Just noticed you here. It's good to see another person around helping out w/ the Bahá'í stuff.

Take care, bye for now

Hello :)

Wikipedia is rather new to me, so I don't exactly know what are the appropriate things to write in here. However, being this a user's webpage, I'll share with you my opinion about Cyprus2k1 (I know him personally, so...)

Aside from his incredible interest in just about anything worthy of interest (revealing of great general knowledge and intelligence), he has a caracteristic even more important.

Cyprus2k1 reveals humbleness as I have seldom seen before. He is extremely interested in the well-being of his friends. It is inspiring to see a well-wisher so humble, and yet so actively asking how his friends are doing.

May prosperity be ever more with you!

Um grande abraço,

Sahba

I like the new Uri Geller page much better. I don't like the statements, "This is how he REALLY does it," because they are not NPOV, and I disagree with them. (Having bent spoons myself, and all. I'm in no strange company, Michael Crichton has as well. I don't think it's particularly rare.) So, I took one of those lines out; Hope no one minds.

==Uri Geller Please explain just what is POV about those changes. Discuss them on the Talk page, as you said. *I* already have. RickK 06:32, Jun 23, 2004 (UTC)

Hi Cyprus2k1, I have a feeling that all of the pictures that you uploaded to wikipedia are copyright violations. Please stop doing that. If I was wrong, please update all your pictures with copyright information and details on how and when permission was granted. Kowloonese 21:22, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Hi!, I know for sure that most of them are NOT copyright violations, however your right, i should update them with copyright information and I Will maybe in the next two/three days.. Thanks - --Cyprus2k1 08:32, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
i updated all of the pictures with copyright information(or copyright warnings), thanks for calling my attention to such issue, at the time i updated most of the photos i was still a beginner in wikipedia and didnt pay much attention to such things. im pretty sure that most photos, are not copyright violations, specially photos of (specially the old) chess players, movie posters, Bahai-related, etc.. i listed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Acores-ilha_do_pico01.jpg as a candidate for speedy deletion. - --Cyprus2k1 16:41, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

NPOV notices

[edit]

Cyprus, I had removed the totally disputed notices on Religious minorities in Iran and Christians in Iran after having waited for several months for a further debate. You put them up today exactly why?

K1 had been running a campaign of gross verbal abuse against me on many different articles (not just these two and few were relate dto religious matters, without actually debating much, so after he was banned for his abuse I left the article in peace, but no one had anything left to argue about. So I do not understand why you put up these notices today. Do have a look into the history of the articles, if you do not believe me, a lot of abuse has been edited. Refdoc 18:09, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

i did NOT put the NPOV notice, an anonymous user did. what i did was put again factual data that had been removed (see the history and the diffs) - --Cyprus2k1 19:07, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hi Cyprus,

Just noticed something about the guy who keeps trying to post Baha'u'llah's picture here that I think you should be aware of. Keep an eye on Baha'u'llah and Baha'i Faith talk pages to see what happens.

This user appears to be an identity created on 14th Jan whose only reason for being is to upload Baha'u'llah's picture and add it to this article and the one on Baha'u'llah. here is his entire list of contributions to Wikipedia. I think Baha'u'llah's image ought to be removed from the Wikipedia database. PaulHammond 21:36, Jan 30, 2005 (UTC)

if the photo is deleted, another troll or the same one, will simply put it back.

Talk page edit

[edit]

Hi Cyprus. i took your "yeah, I thought so" out of the Baha'u'llah talk page - didn't think it was constructive comment. If Amir has nothing, after a couple of days the fact that he hasn't managed to back his edits up will be obvious to anyone. Right now, it's only been six hours since you asked him, and I don't think it would ever be constructive to rub that point in. PaulHammond 18:09, Feb 10, 2005 (UTC)

yes you are correct (but he did do edits on the same talk page after that comment..), thanks for removing the comment. yes it isnt very constructive, i just kind of got tired of the "bahai conspiracy" thing, i wonder if he really believes that or is just trolling, its anoying still.. :\ . - --Cyprus2k1 18:13, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Please be objective

[edit]

Hi. Your history in Baha'u'llah and Baha'i Faith pages shows that you do not allow non-Bahai points of view to be included in those articles unless you approve of those views. This is a very undemocratic and narrow-minded attitude. Please try to be a little more flexible and realize that Wikipedia is for all of us, not for any one groups. Personally, I have learned a lot about all aspects of the Baha'i Faith, Bab'i Faith and Azali Faith from those articles in the past few weeks. I do not want to learn about a subject from just one groups point of view. I have noticed that in the past week you have been deleting information from the articles. I don't care about your fight about the picture of the Baha'i prophet. For me, one way or the other it is OK. But I do care about the contents. Thank you. Ardavan 15:36, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

your are probably trolling..... provide proof for your acusations ir you indeed actually believe them to be true... (show examples) - --Cyprus2k1 15:40, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)
as for the Baha'i Faith article, is had been debated both the photo and the wives paragraph, and the concesus is to remove them both from the Baha'i Faith since their most apropriate place is in Baha'u'llah. [[Talk:Bah%E1%27%ED_Faith#Changes_based_from_comments_from_Neutral_Observer]], [[Talk:Bah%E1%27%ED_Faith/Biographies]], [[Talk:Bah%E1%27%ED_Faith/Picture]]. however some "anonymous" users keep putting them back with no arguments other than flamming... iam being undemocratic?? - --Cyprus2k1 15:40, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't know what trolling means. I even looked it up in the dictionary and I still don't get it. As I said, I don't really care about your fight about the picture of the Prophet of Baha'i Faith, but I do care about the contents. For proof please click on history of the Baha'i Faith article, find every occurance of your own ID (Cyprus2k1), and look at the difference. It is almost all either reverts or deletes. I am not against your religion, or any other religion, I am a religious person myself and I certainly respect people's faith. But I think a little bit of flexibility and tolerance in a project like this will help all of us. If the Prophet of Baha'i Faith had three wives, and the article informs me about that, and you decide that that piece of information should be deleted from the article, you are limiting my learning. Please understand this. I would say the same thing if someone from my own faith did it too. Ardavan 15:47, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

"If the Prophet of Baha'i Faith had three wives, and the article informs me about that, and you decide that that piece of information should be deleted from the article"
i didnt decide any thing... plz read [[Talk:Bah%E1%27%ED_Faith#Changes_based_from_comments_from_Neutral_Observer]] and/or the other talk articles

(im copypasting the same answer, it still applies)

OK I didn't realize it was by consensus. I guess the comments of the edit histories must have given me the wrong idea. I apologize for the misunderstanding. But I must admit, that in my humble opinion, writing an encyclopedia article should not be based on voting and majority opinion, it should be mainly based on facts. Ardavan 16:01, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

the facts are there, but they are in their apropriate context. - --Cyprus2k1 16:11, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)
(btw, there was/is no "pool"/voting, wikipedia works(or should) by constructive discussions)

I think Cyprus, you are at the moment getting a bit hot under the collar on the Bahai pages - there is a lot (too much) of reverting going on. I agree most appears to be close to vandalism and is probably (Martin2000/Amir ?)sock-puppettery, but guys like Ardavan should probably get a better reception. There are rules like "3 reverts in 24 hours only" etc. I think it is time for another RfC and possibly asking an administrator to protect the page until things have cooled down. (protection obviously might mean "the wrong page"....) Keep up the good work! Refdoc 16:39, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Paul on wikibreak

[edit]

Hi Cyprus,

After I found myself getting angry with Refdoc yesterday, I decided to take a break from editing Baha'i articles for a while. I'm busy in real life anyway, as I'm starting a new job in a new city in a couple of weeks. I expect to take an active look again at the Baha'i articles sometime in mid-March, after I settle in to my new situation. In the meantime, drop me a line if there's any need for my support on a Request for Comment about issues regarding the articles, or any editors. PaulHammond 14:43, Feb 14, 2005 (UTC)

Incidentally, while it is likely that people are going to find Baha'u'llah's picture on the Baha'i Faith article for a few weeks, it occurred to me that you might not want to direct-link from your user page to the Baha'i article until that settles down. - PaulHammond 14:46, Feb 14, 2005 (UTC)

My Baha'i wikibreak's off to a good start! Cyprus, I noticed your comment on violet/riga's talk page. I think the voting should deal with the photo on Baha'i in a couple of days, but I wanted to mention that it is well known that Wikipedia always protects the wrong version - PaulHammond 14:45, Feb 15, 2005 (UTC)

Could you take a look at....

[edit]

Bahá'u'lláh three wives - something I've compiled from other sections of stuff. Take a look at Bahá'u'lláh to see what changes I've made to the main article.

Be warned that Amir has already added Baha'u'llah's picture there

[edit]
The image you uploaded, Image:Bryne.jpg, has no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

Fair use rationale for Image:Stargate-poster.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Stargate-poster.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 19:27, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aqdas.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Fair use rationale for File:House of the bab.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:House of the bab.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:House of the bab.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:House of the bab.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 13:59, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of List of vegans

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of vegans. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of vegans. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:11, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:TheBabHouse.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TheBabHouse.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 05:58, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
