User talk:RAM
Hello RAM and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
Welkom

South African Collaboration of the Week!
[edit]Hello, this is just a brief, friendly announcement to let you know that there is now a South African Collaboration of the Week where we vote every two weeks to select an article about South Africa that is either a stub or nonexistent and attempt make it featured article quality by the end of the week. Your comments, voting, and participation would be very welcome! PZFUN 17:41, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I saw that you had contributed to the talk page of the Boer War. Last week I knocked together an article on Deneys Reitz because he is used as a "Further reading" on the Spion Kop page. This lead me to write an article on the Maritz Rebellion. I would appreciate it if you have time to look the two articles over for NPOV and accuracy etc. I know something about Reitz because I bought a copy of his book some years ago, but I did not know anything about the Boer Revolt until just before I wrote the article. Great pics! Commons! Why don't you add a link to your af:User:Renier Maritz page from this user page, and make a picture gallery, so we can pick through them ? Wizzy…☎ 08:13, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi RAM!
Thank you very much for your pictures of trenches in South Africa. May I use the picture of the loopgrawe from Magersfontein for publishing in a Swedish newspaper? To whom should I contribute?
Best regards
Tomas —Preceding

Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa
[edit]Hello,
I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabelldoualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahfafricacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.
If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/
Best regards, Islahaddow

Removing AfD template
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Stephan Kinsella. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it. Snotbot t • c » 21:56, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
