Conventions
[edit]IIHF assigns 5th place in World Championships to the quarterfinal loser with the best qualifying round record, 6th place to one with the second best record, etc. Are we ignoring that and reporting all four quarterfinal losers as "tied for 5th place"? Either way is fine with me but I would like to make the convention explicit so that we do not get pages for some teams reporting it one way and pages for other teams the other way. - I was unaware of that. I think if we got rid of the ties, that would be good. I'm very sorry. I'll take a look through them tommorow. Earl Andrew 03:22, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Not be a big problem. IIHF only introduced elimination round in 1998, so, we just have to change places for World Championships from 1998 to 2004. I can do that myself later today. Andris 15:01, Sep 2, 2004 (UTC)
- Even better! Earl Andrew 17:17, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Done. Andris 21:01, Sep 2, 2004 (UTC)

Head coach
[edit]I think we should also mention the team's current head coach. Andris 20:36, Sep 1, 2004 (UTC)
- Head coaches vary. For example (Canada), Pat Quinn is the World Cup/ Olympics coach but the World Championships coach was someone else. Earl Andrew 03:24, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Naming convention
[edit]Why are they listed here as "Canadian... hockey team" and "American... hockey team" but on the actual pages it's "Canada... hockey team" and "United States... hockey team"? It makes sense to have the latter since it's an adjective... Schmloof (talk) 22:29, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's because the pages all went through a request for move awhile back and were moved to the current name. This list was written when they were named the same and probably forgotten about when the articles were renamed. -Djsasso (talk) 14:08, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
