Legal authority for transfer of h2g2.com material to this WP article

[edit]

I do have the legal wherewithal to post this. There is a similar article on h2g2, which I also wrote. No copyright breach here. -Martin

With all due respect, one never has the right to move text part and parcel from any website, to Wikipedia, without stating the source, and it is never appropriate to put content into Wikipedia that is original in its composition—based on original research rather than on the published work of others. This same issue was rectified at The Dice Man article, but still needs to be rectified here. In fairness, perhaps this was accepted practice in 2002. But it has not been for a very ling time. 67.167.8.141 (talk) 05:59, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Correction of formats to WP standards

[edit]

I fixed the markup on two other related pages, but this page needs it too, and there's too much here for an author I'll probably never even read. Book titles, as well as TV shows and films, should be italicized. Ortolan88

Really? Is there a set of style guidelines somewhere on wikipedia? I'll get that fixed eventually then, unless someone beats me to it. All the ISBNs because I just found the wikipedia ISBN specialpage and I think it's cool... -Martin
yes: Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Please link to it from wherever you expected to find it :-) -- Tarquin 18:21 Dec 20, 2002 (UTC)

Barter Books - Dice Centre

[edit]

"It has been claimed that 'Barter Books' in Alnwick, England is or was a dice centre." - who by, where? What is the meaning of "dice centre" here? - David Gerard 00:59, Jan 23, 2004 (UTC)

I've removed this claim. Sounds like nonsense. --Tagishsimon (talk)

Merge to George Cockcroft

[edit]

I propose redirecting Luke Rhinehart to George Cockcroft and merging any material that is here and not there to that article. Gobonobo T C 12:56, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ya i think this article should be merged also, it is short and could turn it into a section on Cockcrofts page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beefcake6412 (talkcontribs) 23:44, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I will begin doing the equivalent of this today. Cheers. 67.167.8.141 (talk) 05:45, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]

Per earlier merge and discussion and consensus, see above, and given that the author is now freely disclosing his name and identity as that of George Cockcroft, the article for the pseudonym is being renamed with that of the actual author. Cheers, stand by. 67.167.8.141 (talk) 05:51, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Where is that discussion and consensus ? Sorry, I can't see it. -- Beardo (talk) 04:56, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
