Hey: why is Image:Vim.png listed as being used under fair use? It's Free software, displaying GPL'ed stuff, so there doesn't seem to be any particular reason for it. And besides, you can see Image:Vim-(logiciel)-console.png is under a CC license, not fair use. --Gwern (contribs) 18:04 3 December 2006 (GMT)

I agree. It seems like a weird choice, and I can't remember why I didn't pick a CC license or similar. However, as the picture has been replaced, I guess I can't change that now..?

Well, why not upload a replacement image under some sort of Free image to Commons, and then request a speedy delete of a now-replaceable fair use image? --Gwern (contribs) 16:36 4 December 2006 (GMT)

License tagging for Image:Precedence graph.svg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Precedence graph.svg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:09, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Robert Goldblatt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I've moved this biography stub to User:Ehamberg/Robert Goldblatt so that you can expand and source it. Cheers.--Tikiwont (talk) 12:37, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Graphic request

[edit]

Hei! You have done a great job with File:Haploid vs diploid.svg graphic. Would it be possible to extend this image to include triploid and tetraploid? We are currently revising the polyploid article (see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Molecular_and_Cellular_Biology#Squint_talk for a discussion) and it would be very helpful to have a revised version. Vennlig hilsen. Boghog (talk) 20:01, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I made an extended version. It's available here: File:Haploid, diploid ,triploid and tetraploid.svg Ehamberg (talk)

Thanks for uploading File:Aima 3rd editon cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
