File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Trebor Healy face (2007).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 19:28, 30 May 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:28, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Genepi

[edit]

Thanks for the major rewrite of génépi. A user had contributed a lot of content, but it needed better organization and copyediting. I had started on it this spring, but never got around to finishing it. You did a great job and I just wanted to show my appreciation. -Krasnoludek (talk) 02:54, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Einstein on the Beach, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages The Barbican, Power Center and Berkeley (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Science lovers wanted!

Science lovers wanted!
Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to your participation! Sarah (talk) 01:50, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do hope you'll visit the to-do list and dive in - do let me know if you need anything. And of course, your contributions can earn you the official oh so fancy SIA barnstar :) Thanks again! So happy to have you on board! SarahStierch (talk) 23:54, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Takes Ann Arbor

[edit]

Hello, Starfarmer. I see you have recommended Ann Arbor as a place to hold a Wikipedia Takes America event. However, no event page has yet been created. Let me know on my talk page if you need any assistance with organizing an event. Thank you, Harej (talk) 15:12, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
