Mongolia is rather confusing. It is definitely the worst country to live in. The weather is often frigid. Many geezers live in the area. Hovd is a city within the Republic of Mongolia. "Mongolia" is properly applied to only the Republic of Mongolia. Inner Mongolia, although related ethnically and historically (as is much of northern China), is an Autonomous region of the People's Republic of China. Mongol descended people live thoughout central Asia including siberia and the middle east countries. Perhaps someone could add information on the Mongols, where they are found, Chengis Kahn, their rule over China in the 13th century, et.

Second, Khobdu (Hovd) did not belong to Outer Mongolia. It had been ruled by Jün Ghar until being conquered by the Manchu Empire. During the Qing Dynasty, Khobdu did not belong to a league but wes ruled by ministers dispatched from Beijing. When Outer Mongolia began the independence movement, the eastern half of Khobdu was annexed by the new government.--Nanshu

Er, I am not quite aware that "Mongolia" by itself refers to the region predominantly among English-speakers. I believe that Mongolia should refer to the country and the Mongolia (region) to the region. --seav 21:46, Nov 20, 2003 (UTC)

About the spelling of Mongolian Names

The names (including placenames) in this article are spelled accordign to the Inner Mongolian dialect of Mongolian, which pronunciation differs in many ways from that of the official language of Mongolia (the independent country), also known as Khalkha dialect. It is legitimate to use the Inner Mongolian dialect when referring to names and placenames of Inner Mongolia, but for Outer Mongolia and Khovd region the names should be spelled using the Khalkha dialect (or at least its romanisation).

Stop the Chinese chaunistic prapoganda on wikipedia!

There is no such thing as "Mongolia (region)". Mongolia has been a country throughout the history inhabitted by mainly Mongols along with others but never Chinese until recent. The country has been divided in recent history into several pieces due to: 1. Manchu invasion; 2. Russian expansion and Chinese imperialism; 3. Spread of communism.

Not only the term and concept of "Mongolia (region)" are fabricated, this article here along with the "Inner Mongolia" article (especially the "history" part) are largely Communist Chinese government propaganda. Those who, I believe they are Chinese, if not government agent, should immediately stop doing this and the Wikipedia management should take some actions to stop this chauvinistic plots.

While the "propaganda" accusation may be a little exaggerated, a page named Mongolia (region) is just plain silly. Mongolia is not a region, and it never was. What is the purpose of this? Is it meant to list "historically mongolian territories"? If so, then it would have to look very different. As it is, I can't see it serving any useful purpose. --Latebird 17:27, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
